What they require is a creative who is a strategic thinker, capable of developing new design systems for network visualization. You won't just be drawing maps from scratch; you’ll be helping the team move toward a smarter, data-driven GIS workflow.
You'll have a deep understanding of information design nuances. You will be tasked with conceptualizing a new product to clearly communicate detailed information and updating complex geographic and schematic linear maps. You'll be able to dive into the studio’s process, collaborating with spatial and planning teams to ensure design overlays align with technical data.
You'll have come from a high-end design studio background having worked on similarly complex information-heavy projects, and have a folio that showcases this.
This requirement is due to start in late March/early April and run for approximately two months, with flexibility around working three to five days per week. This is a hybrid requirement, with the team preferring someone who can be in the office potentially one to two days a week while offering flexibility for remote work.
Obviously, you’ll be right across Adobe Illustrator and InDesign. Experience with GIS or the MAPublisher plugin would be a massive advantage, though an understanding of how these systems work is the priority.
If you're keen to be considered for this role, apply by clicking the link below and submitting your current CV and your folio that showcases examples of your mapping and information design work. Make sure your folio clearly communicates your process and your ability to show complex things simply.
