Freelance FAQ

  • Once you have registered for freelance work you will be contacted when a project is available that matches your experience.

    If you are available for the project, your Consultant will make an introduction to our client, once they have obtained your permission to do so.

    When the Client wants to book you, you will be sent a freelance job confirmation which includes your rate per hour/day and the timesheet process.

     
  • Yes, but only if you are registered for GST AND you have Professional Indemnity and Personal Liability insurances. You will also need to provide proof that you are paying 9.5% of your income into a superannuation fund each quarter.

    If you don’t meet the above requirements, you will be employed by Ayers Management as their employee for a specific period of time or for a specific task or project as per the requirements of our Client.

     
  • Creative Recruiters will be unable to provide a firm commitment in advance of how long you may be employed in a project, nor the days and hours you will work. We will be able to give approximations only and these will be included in our freelance job confirmation emails. 

    Should a freelance project be cancelled on the day of commencement you will be paid a minimum of 4 hours.

     
  • As a casual worker you aren’t entitled to sick or annual leave, however your rate of pay will include a ‘casual loading’ being a higher rate of pay than full and part-time workers.

     
  • As a casual employee you don’t have to accept the freelance project that we offer you. Under agreement with our client, you can decide what hours you work to complete the project. You can also cease working on a project without notice.

  • Refer to the job confirmation email you will have received at the commencement of your freelance project or with every extension notification email. The instructions are there.

    Tip: Be sure to hit submit no later than midnight on Sundays to ensure you are paid the following week.

    Tip: If you email Ayers be sure to copy in your Consultant so they are aware you’re having problems.

  • If you have been granted a working visa we can possibly find you freelance work. Sponsorship opportunities for permanent work are very few and far between.

    Most Visas have a limit on how much time you can spend with the one employer, so it’s important that you research and notify your Recruiter on your restrictions.

    Tip: You will need to already be living in Australia before you start applying for jobs due to the nature of freelance gigs.
