Our State Government client is looking for an experienced Mid to Senior Wayfinding Designer to work on some highly anticipated and prestigious projects on a freelance basis. These projects will add value to your portfolio and are definitely worth exploring.
This is a contract that spans 6-12 months. The ideal candidate will work in a hybrid capacity in Melbourne, but the client is open to considering candidates who are based interstate or fully remote.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the client, project managers, and stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements for wayfinding solutions
- Design and develop clear, concise, and effective wayfinding solutions
- Create detailed wayfinding plans, including maps, signage, and other directional elements
- Develop design guidelines and specifications for wayfinding solutions
- Provide guidance and support to other team members on wayfinding design principles and best practices
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, or a related field
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in wayfinding design
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, or similar tools
- Knowledge of design principles, typography, and colour theory
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience working with contemporary design studio’s is highly desirable
