This is an opportunity for a Junior to Midweight Designer to join an established and dedicated team who pride themselves on the high quality of work that they produce. Please note: this is not a graduate opportunity; you must have some industry experience to be suitable for this role.
This position will be able to provide the successful creative with a varied range of responsibilities including gift packaging and product surface design, catalogue layout, product studio photography, EDM layout and distribution, ad design and layout for catalogue and magazine advertising, POS merchandising and signage design, eyewear trend reports and marketing leaflets for retail distribution.
You’ll be given the responsibility to manage a project from concept to completion, so you’ll have strong design skills and ideally have similar prior experience. Your design will also reflect a style that is suitable for our market, which is predominantly aimed at women and babies.

Your prior experience will have your ability to manage workflow and timeline expectations down to a fine art, and you’ll have strong written and verbal communication skills in support.
For this application, you’ll have the opportunity to show off your work in your portfolio that you have done from concept through to completion, and ideally showing off your packaging and product experience as well.
Software wise, this studio uses the standard applications in Creative Suite CC, and if you have some studio photography and retouching skills or the design and ability to learn, this will be highly advantageous.
This company is based in the South Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, and they do require people onsite, though flexible work hours may be considered for the right candidate. You will need to have proof of vaccination to apply for this position.
Given the location, some form of motor transport will be needed as well, as this business is not easily accessible by public transport.
