Game Testers are essential to the success of a game and are factors in what makes a game successful. Most Game testers have experience in the video game industry, or an accompanying field, they have worked in a team environment, able to self-manage tasks, and the most important ingredient is that they are passionate about video games! To become a good Games Tester you need the following skill set:
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills as well as strong communication skills (written & verbal)
Knowledge of product life-cycles and their key dependencies
Experience in solving problems and trouble-shooting
Prioritising and multitasking on several projects at once
Ability to think creatively in your approach to achieving and surpassing quality standards
Ability to work in a team, and to incorporate feedback from peers.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a proactive attitude and the ability to take direction and love to get to the bottom of things that are not working
You will need the following:
Experience with Git, Unity, Unreal 4, GameMaker Studio 2
In-depth knowledge with Google Docs, Trello, Slack or other organisational platforms
In-depth experience with PC, PS4/5, XB1/SX, Switch, Web, iOS, MacOS, Android
