The Role
Working closely with the Senior Brand and Design Advisor, your mission is to keep complex wayfinding and research projects moving. You’ll be the primary point of contact for external research partners and other state jurisdictions, ensuring that deep insights from years of data are translated into actionable design stimulus.
This isn't about being the primary author of the strategy; it’s about having the "good thinking skills" to review project inputs and ensure they align with the broader customer experience goals.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Research Coordination: Liaising with third-party firms to extract insights that inform project iterations.
- Strategic Facilitation: Reviewing project stimulus through the lens of user journeys and "moments that matter".
- Jurisdictional Liaison: Engaging with partners in NSW and Brisbane to share research and solve shared transport challenges.
- Collaborative Design Review: Using Miro to apply wayfinding principles (like progressive disclosure) to the feedback loop.
- Project Management: Keeping everything on track using Asana and SharePoint.
You likely come from an architectural or wayfinding background and have transitioned into design management or project coordination. You understand that wayfinding is more than just signs; it’s about the journey and solving pain points for the public.
Key Requirements:
- Wayfinding Expertise: Solid knowledge of mapping and how information is disclosed across a transport network.
- Strategic Mindset: An ability to understand the strategy process and customer experience (CX) without needing to lead it.
- Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Asana, Miro, Microsoft Office, and SharePoint. Basic skills with Adobe InDesign would be an advantage.
- The Right Vibe: A professional who can integrate into a team undergoing restructuring with a calm and collaborative approach.
- Commitment: 3–4 days per week.
- Duration: Immediate start through to at least 30 June 2026, possibly beyond.
- Location: Hybrid (Victoria-based), with an anchor day in the office (typically Wednesdays).
- Equipment: You will need to provide your own laptop (Mac or PC).
If you have the right mix of project management skills and wayfinding knowledge, we’d love to hear from you.
