About the Role
We are seeking a highly meticulous, detail-oriented Freelance Graphic Designer for an immediate 2-month freelance project.
This is a unique information design project focused on transforming complex, hand-drawn site audits into clean, highly accurate layout maps.
You do not need to be a mapping specialist—we are looking for a regular, top-tier designer who thrives on precision, consistency, and clean vector design.
While the day-to-day work is conducted remotely using your own equipment, you will need to attend an on-site briefing in Melbourne on your first day to align with the project team and map formatting styles.
Key Responsibilities:
Vector Map Creation: Transform hand-drawn sketches and annotated site notes into beautifully refined, clear master designs.
Layout Drafting: Build out spatial perimeters, structural rooms, and platform orientations based on existing basic templates.
Iconography & Asset Placement: Accurately apply a pre-established library of icons, abbreviations, and color-coded keys to identify specific ground assets (such as signage, digital screens, and facilities).
Collaborative Refinement: Work directly with the auditing team to review technical notes and ensure zero data loss during translation.
Key expertise:
Software Expertise: Mastery of Adobe Illustrator is mandatory.
Uncompromising Attention to Detail: The ability to digest heavily annotated drawings and execute them flawlessly without missing minor details. This is crucial to minimizing review loops.
Process-Driven Mindset: Comfort working with highly structured brand guidelines, set iconography, and strict design templates.
Efficiency: Ability to scale up and maintain a steady output pace as you become familiar with the core layouts.
Applicants:
You must be available for the entire period between 1st June and 31st July, 5 days per week.
You must live in Melbourne as you are required to attend onsite on the first day and occasionally thereafter.
You must have proven technical skills with Adobe Illustrator
Ideally you have a portfolio that demonstrates exceptional precision in information or layout design.
If you can say yes to all the above requirements, please apply here (to be fair to all applicants please do not email or call me directly).
